¡Unete a nuestro equipo!
We are committed to creating a diverse and intersectional team made up of people who are kind, optimistic, talented and committed to social justice.
You don’t need to have experience as a “trans activist.” While being an “activist” of any kind is great and relevant, we are eager to expand our movement by bringing expertise from all professional backgrounds. Just be sure to tell us how your life experience translates to the position you are applying for. Unless otherwise explicitly stated in the job requirements, we are very interested in applicants who:
- Are directly affected by the work that we do
- Do not have college degrees
- Have been formerly incarcerated or have a record
We are a remote-first, nationally-distributed organization. This means the majority of our roles are work-from-home; some roles may have hybrid components or regional requirements. These exceptions will be clearly listed in the job requirements. A4TE can assist with relocation expenses for candidates who are offered hybrid/region-bound positions, so please don’t let the cost of moving stop you from applying!

Our Commitment to Social Justice
Advocates for Trans Equality affirmatively values diversity and seeks to hire and retain staff that reflects the constellation of our communities.
At A4TE, we strive to create an environment where all employees know they are valued. In particular, we work to address anti-Black racism as it greatly impacts our organization and our community. We confront oppression, both internally and externally, and acknowledge that it can manifest on both a personal and systemic level. We continuously challenge ourselves to understand and address inequities and are committed to the learning process, both personal and professional. As a social justice organization, we will only succeed in creating a just and equitable society for all trans people if we focus our work on the needs of the most marginalized trans people, particularly Black, Indigenous, and disabled members of our community. We are deeply committed to restoration and invite our community to hold us accountable in this crucial work.

Pro-Labor, Pro-Employee
A4TE is proud to be a unionized workplace, and its collective bargaining unit is affiliated with UAW Local 2325 - Association of Legal Aid Attorneys.

Transparencia salarial
As part of our commitment to economic justice, A4TE strives to provide a competitive and equitable wage for all staff, regardless of position. All job descriptions posted by A4TE include the range of anticipated pay. Management and confidential employee salaries will be listed on each individual job posting. Salaries for union positions are dependent on years of experience and subject to our collectively-bargained salary scale.

What should I expect during the hiring process?
- After reviewing applications, those who advance will be invited to do a short, 30-minute phone screening. Those who go to the next round(s) can expect a video interview via Zoom.
- Our hiring philosophy strongly centers accessibility. For this reason, we provide all candidates with a copy of the questions they will be asked in advance of all interviews.
- After receiving an offer, all candidates have the option for a culture-focused meet and greet with members of the broader organization. This meet and greet is designed for candidates to get to know A4TE, and is not scored by the hiring team.
- A4TE strives for the hiring process to be complete within 8 weeks of the initial posting of an open position. Because people apply from all over the country, sometimes 8 weeks is not achievable, especially if there is a need for travel. Our commitment to you is to keep you informed of our process and timeline every step of the way.
- A4TE provides reasonable accommodations for the application, interview, or any other aspects of the employee selection process to applicants with disabilities. Please contact us via famecos-pg@pucrs.br so your request can be handled appropriately and confidentially.
- Please review all the application requirements carefully before submitting. Each role is unique and may have different requirements. Any incomplete applications will not be considered.
- All of our roles are listed on our jobs page, and we only review applications submitted through our talent acquisition portal. We do not consider candidates who submit materials outside of our recruitment platform (this includes any job boards, social media accounts, via email, etc.).
